It is amazing at the way Nigerians are desperate to make money without considering the health of others.

Just recently, veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright took to her Instagram handle to post a short video of how a man found a dead frog inside his sealed dispenser bottled water. This video has gotten the attention of so many people across the country and they all keep wondering what the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) is going to do about it.

Chinese drivers fashion rat-proof car 'skirts'

Two cars in Nanning with rat-proof shields

Residents of a city in southern China have been attaching "skirts" to their cars to protect them from rats.
Locals in Nanning, in the Guangxi autonomous region, came up with the unusual solution after rodents were found to be clambering inside the vehicles and gnawing through the wiring. Parked cars have been spotted around the city sporting the makeshift, wraparound shields - dubbed "car maxi skirts" in the Chinese media - some fashioned from fabric and chicken wire, others using bamboo.
"There are many rats in this area," local man Mr Zhao tells Nanning TV, adding that it's a particular problem during cold spells when rats like to snuggle down in warm places, like car bonnets. "Putting these around the cars is a good thing, and it can also prevent small children from scratching them," he says.

Ancient tribe in Indonesia roasts dead relatives

There is a village in Indonesia where they roast their dead and store them rather than bury corpses. The village is called Wogi and is owned by the people of the Dani tribe in New Guinea. The only way to get to Wogi is via air travel because there are no roads there

A village has been discovered in Indonesia where the dead are not buried but roasted over an open fire and kept as mummies for a long time. Daily Star UK reports that the “Dani people from the central highlands of western New Guinea, Indonesia, have been able to preserve their dead for centuries with smoke”.

Though it reports that the technique is no longer in use, a tribe in Wogi – a village close to the regional capital, Wamena – has held on to a number of mummies which it refused to bury. According to tradition in that region, smoking someone over a fire for weeks, or even months, is the ultimate show of respect for the deceased in Dani culture. In recent years, this bizarre culture has brought tourists to this isolated part of Indonesia, more than 2,000 miles from the capital, Jakarta. Daily Star UK reports that “Visitors can also get a glimpse of Dani traditions at Baliem Valley Festival, an annual event with mock battles between tribes.”

The Dani tribe was first encountered by explorers in 1909, when they played host to a Dutch expedition in one village for several nights. One part of the tribe, the Grand Valley Dani, remained undiscovered until 1938 when an American spotted them from a plane.

Northern Christians break away from CAN, revert to NNCA

Northern Christians under the aegis, The Concerned Christians of Nigeria and Northern Nigerian Christians, have announced their decision to pull out of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and revert to what they described as the pre-independence Northern Nigerian Christian Association (NNCA).

The Northern Christian bodies said recent political happenings and 'corruption' in CAN with particular reference ‎to what they described as the "controvesial" emergence of the new CAN President, Rev. Supo Ayokunle(above), forced them to pull out of the Christian body.

At a joint press conference in Jos in Plateau state, Rev. Luka Shehu of Concerned Christians of Nigeria and Hon. Peter Luka of Northern Nigerian Christians accused the leadership of CAN of acts of corruption as well as neglect of northern Christians especially in the North-East.

"Considering our common shared values and peculiarities as Christians from CAN and after wide consultation among Christian leaders, traditional rulers, youths and women, we under this auspices from the north have unanimously decided to revert to the pre-independence Northern Nigeria Christian Association,".

Dorine – the lady who sadly lost her husband and her daughter in one of the infamous Peace Mass Transit accident has given an insight of her new life as a widow:
See what she wrote below:
When i found myself in this my new status (widowhood) people made promises but failed me. Some said sorry and left me to my worries and pain alone.
Some will be happy thinking I have fallen and my world have crumbled, ‪#‎exhales‬# then the devil will smile and say “let me watch u praise God again after he allowed u pass through this”.
Then I cried, gnashed my teeth, confided myself, also fled severally but In all this, i sat back and reason. If this didn’t happen what would have happened. Then I picked up my bible and searched for the word Widows and then I realised that God gave me so much promises, wow!!

All I do is challenge him with his words and am able to live each day. He said he is the husband to the widows and father to the fatherless chaiiii!!!!. Tell me if I won’t progress in life knowing such promises are from the God that never fails.
Do u know what it is to be a wify to Jesus? My dear ,then I realised I got no worries. All I have to do is have a good relationship with Him, give him praises and worship him in truth and in Spirit and He will move mountains for my sake.? Devil u have lost cos even if I lose everything I cherish God is still God. Happy new week friends.

See The Countries With The Fastest Internet In The World (See List)

Electronic devices are things that we use every day and has a huge influence on our daily life. Especially the Internet is becoming more and more important for nearly everybody, probably more important than the devices themselves, and is now our most preferred means of everyday communication.

However, to enjoy the uninterrupted services of the internet, you need to have good connectivity. There are two important metrics in bandwidth allocation (measured in Megabits per second or Mbps): download and upload speed, denoting the speed of inbound and outbound data respectively.
The average web page loads at 6.3 Mbps universally, a number that denotes how many million bits of data can be moved in a second.
Akamai Technologies, a Massachusetts-based internet provider, did a study on how the internet speeds measure up in countries worldwide. The company releases a report every quarter that ranks countries as per their internet speed.
According to them, here are the top 10 countries, which are mentioned in descending order of net connectivity.
1. South Korea
According to the Akami report, people in South Korea enjoy the fastest internet in the world. The country’s average internet speed measures 29 Mbps, which is 4.6 times as quick as the global average.
To put things in perspective, the average HD film is about 5,000 MB. A computer could download that in a little over two and a half minutes at 29 Mbps speed.
In spite of more than 80% of South Korean households have access to some of the world’s fastest internet connections, they face usage limitations. Several internet users have to face strong internet censorship in South Korea, according to a report released last year by the nonprofit Freedom House.
2. Norway
Norway witnessed the biggest growth (68%) in internet speed at 21.3 Mbps since last year in comparison to any other country in the top 10. At this speed, a computer could upload or download about five high-quality photos per second.
3. Sweden
Sweden’s internet offers an average of 20.6 Mbps, which means that many people hardly face any experience delays, even if they have multiple applications running that use a lot of bandwidth.
Since last year, the country has noticed a 32% increase in speed.
4. Hong Kong
Hong Kong was the first country in the world to hit 60 Mbps in 2013. Today, its residents enjoy an average internet speed of 19.9 Mbps.
5. Switzerland
The internet in Switzerland rises at an average 18.7 Mbps, a 25% increase from last year.
