Sam Allardyce leaves England job after 67 days in charge
Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager by mutual consent after just one game in charge of the national team.
I have been pondering over this issue, just after 67 days, this was to me his highest job and infact an enviable one, but so sad he couldn't keep it. He should have known better.
Allardyce was filmed advising undercover journalists on how to circumvent rules against third-party ownership, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Video accompanying the report shows Allardyce meeting twice with journalists posing as representatives of a Far East agency who were interested in bypassing rules from the Football Association and FIFA.
"You can still get around it. I mean, obviously, the big money's here," Allardyce said on the video, while also calling the regulations "ridiculous."
Former Sunderland boss Allardyce was appointed as Roy Hodgson's successor in July, and he oversaw his first, and only, game in charge as England beat Slovakia 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier thanks to Adam Lallana's late goal.
The FA confirmed that England under-21 manager Gareth Southgate will now take charge of the senior squad for the next four matches against Malta, Slovenia, Scotland and Spain while the search for a permanent manager takes place.

Nigerians are reporting Amaju Pinnick to FIFA President on social media
President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino alongside the General Secretary, Fatma Samoura arrived Nigeria yesterday in what would be a two-day visit and they were received by the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick.
As expected, pictures went round on social media the moment Infantino touched down in Abuja and Nigerians started reacting. One thing got out attention, and it was the fact that most Nigerians felt it was an opportunity to finally ‘punish’ Amaju Pinnick for considered failures of his administration.

Sam Allardyce to be appointed new England boss on Thursday - report
Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce will be appointed England manager within the next 24 hours, sources tell Press Association Sport.
The 61-year-old Sunderland boss arrived at Victoria Park for his club's first preseason friendly against Hartlepool shortly after 6 p.m. local time on Wednesday evening as the news emerged that he is likely to be announced as Roy Hodson's successor following a Football Association Board meeting on Thursday.
It is a dream appointment for the former Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham manager, who was beaten to the post by Steve McClaren 10 years ago.
News of Allardyce's imminent departure from Wearside came just hours after FA chief executive Martin Glenn revealed that the governing body was close to making a decision, but insisted it would not be rushed.
The Sunderland manager has been the bookmakers' favourite ever since it emerged that he had held talks with the three-man panel -- Glenn, vice chairman David Gill and technical director Dan Ashworth -- charged with the task of finding the new man.
Discussions have also been held Hull manager Steve Bruce, while Bournemouth's Eddie Howe and United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann are also understood to have figured prominently on the FA's shortlist.

REVEALED: Keshi was hypertensive and broken-hearted
Stephen Keshi died with a broken heart, as confirmed from family.
“Since the death of his wife, Kate, in December 2015, his life had changed dramatically,” a family member said on Wednesday morning hours after the football icon passed on.
He said Keshi, 54, had become hypertensive “but was managing it very well… always taking his medications and checking his blood pressure very regularly”.
Another family member said that since the former Super Eagles’ coach lost his wife, he had become so lonely that he was practically soliciting phone calls from friends.
“After the burial of his wife, people practically left him to himself. The calls and visits became fewer, and he felt the pain the more. They were married for 35 years and he watched the love of his life battle bravely with cancer for three years. He was inconsolable,” he said.
It was understood that Keshi, who was due to travel to the US later in the day, started complaining of excruciating pains in his legs a few minutes to midnight.
He was rushed to the hospital when the pains would not subside, but we couldn’t confirm if he died on the way or on arrival.
In a statement issued by his family, the preliminary cause of death was given as “cardiac arrest”.
Respected sports journalist, Kayode Tijani, who was very close to Keshi, said that he spoke with the former international last weekend.
“He asked about me from a mutual friend, so I immediately called him. He was so appreciative. You would think I gave him something he did not have. He kept thanking me profusely for calling him,” Tijani said.
When his wife died, Keshi had said: “She was ill for a while now and I’m still in shock of this great loss.
“She is more like a sister to me and was the rock behind me and everything I do. My love for her was at first sight.”
They had four children.
Also Mr. Emmanuel Attah having asked as one of his close friends who walked together with Stephen Keshi during AFCON, said he spoke to him 2 days and even talked about his new coaching job in South Africa. Mr. Emmanuel said Coach Keshi sounded very well and fine, that he was still in shock about the news.

Former Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi Is Dead
Nigerian football icon Stephen Okechukwu Keshi died suddenly in the early hours of Wednesday in Benin City, Edo state, Naijaloaded was briefed.
The former international football player and coach had lost his wife of 33 years, Kate, last year after a prolonged battle with cancer.
NL confirmed his death from a member of his family as well as one of his close associates.
“He was not ill at all, never showed any signs of illness, but we suspect he never got over the death of his wife,” a friend said.
He is survived by four children and his mother.

Gundogan becomes Guardiola’s first signing at Manchester City
Manchester City have announced the signing of Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal.
He becomes Pep Guardiola’s first recruit at the Etihad and City will pay around £20million plus add-ons for the 25-year-old.
The Premier League have taken the decision to sign the German midfielder, despite the fact he is still recovering from injury. Gundogan dislocated his kneecap in May.
“I’m thrilled to have signed for Manchester City,” he told City’s official website.
“When I learned of City’s interest my heart was set on coming here and things have moved very quickly.
“I have loved my time with Borussia Dortmund and I would like to thank the club and the supporters for the five very happy years I spent there.

Jose Mourinho appointed Manchester United manager after Van Gaal exit
Manchester United announced on Friday that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has become their new manager.
Mourinho, who has long been linked to a move to Old Trafford, succeeds Dutch coach Louis van Gaal, who parted ways with the club on Monday after he failed to secure a place in next season's Champions League.
The appointment of the Portuguese coach, 53, was announced just days after United's FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, and issues surrounding image rights played a part in delaying the process.
Announcing the appointment, Manchester United vice chairman Ed Woodward said: "Jose is quite simply the best manager in the game today. He has won trophies and inspired players in countries across Europe and, of course, he knows the Premier League very well, having won three titles here.

Just hours before official confirmation that Louis Van Gaal was sacked by Man utd, storage boxes containing Jose Mourinho’s belongings were transported out of his London home and was moved to Manchester.
He was surrounded by journalists as he left his London home to get a new house in Manchester ahead of official confirmation this week that he will become the new manager of the World’s most popular football club.

Louis Van Gaal Sacked By Manchester United
Van Gaal and his Dutch coaching team have been informed that the club has ended their contracts, according to reports.

Manchester United's manager Louis Van Gaal has reportedly been sacked and has left the club along with his staff, reports say.The club will make a statement shortly where they are expected to confirm that the 64-year-old is no longer the team's manager.
He arrived at the club's Carrington training ground at around 8.45am, and was followed in by employment lawyer Paul Gilroy QC, who works with the League Managers' Association.
Sky's Sports Correspondent Paul Kelso said the decision had seemed "pretty certain" since it was revealed on Saturday evening that Manchester United were preparing to appoint Jose Mourinho as manager.

Five players that disappointed Premier League fans this season

Chelsea mounted the worst Premier League title defense ever, Manchester United never got to grips to what it means to be a top club, Liverpool were too inconsistent and Arsenal…well…they were Arsenal. Yay!!!
Leicester City won the league against a 5000/1 odds while one of the divisions most established clubs in Newcastle and Aston Villa were relegated.
While Players like Mesut Ozil, Riyad Mahrez, Harry Kane, Odion Ighalo, Jamie Vardy raised their game (Vardy was a prolific scorer in the lower leagues actually) and surprised everyone, others faltered.
Below are the players who failed to match the ambition or expectations of fans and their clubs;
1. Eden Hazard: The worst of the bunch though he did improve towards the end of the season with great goals and performances. It seemed like Jose Mourinho was toxic to his career but he still never recovered under Guus Hiddink.
Was expected to break the duopoly of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi but was so poor, it was reported Chelsea were ready to cash in. He looked good in the last four games of the season and expect him to shine this summer during the Euro 2016 tournament.
2. Memphis Depay: Another who was expected to reach world class level under the guidance of the man who made him a world star in the 2014 World Cup where he scored three goals.
He started brightly at Manchester United following his move from PSV but his manager started criticizing his output and his poor form became the stuff of legend.
At one point he looked overweight, at another point, he looked like he was not interested in playing for Louis Van Gaal. if Jose Mourinho, he would be expected to improve his game. Still has time to fulfill his potential.
