Schools on the increase - my write up

What can one say, I remember in my early days, I went to a private school where I paid N60 for fees and we had the best of Education, now its not so, schools are springing up everyday. In Gwarimpa for instance, if I am not mistaken you have a school or a creche on every street.

What is the primary reason or goal for setting up these schools? What are our authorities doing concerning it? Have we stopped to check or ask if there are quality facilities to aid the upbringing of this future generation. Outrageous fees are paid, some collect in dollars. Those who should speak are speechless so long as brown envelopes are passed across.

Do we really care of what this kids will be tomorrow? I know it will  be difficult to go back to those days but measures should be taken to check this.

Let's talk about this and brain storm, we can't tell via this medium the people in authority might look into it.

  1. Serious measures should be taken. Back in the days private schools were set up cos public schools were too crowded and cos of strike actions. but even at that education was good and interesting. these days gross indiscipline has taken over our schools, children are too lazy to learn, too lazy to even greet their teachers and parents

  2. If the foundation is faulty then it means we will be sending bad eggs to the higher institution. Hw then can we curb cultism and other vices.

  3. This seem simple and straight forward however its clearly complex for me. Do I really want to start from the employment and unemployment chances, or the Negligence of the regulatory boards(min.of Education/Basic education) or the hike for Profit reasons or non-consideration of the less privileged and the Half baked graduates some turn out(at secondary and tertiary level)?its generally a SYSTEMIC and PROCESS failure.

  4. Very true @Suleiman it is our system's failure buh how do we harness the problems faced by our educational sector. it is still our duty as citizens to improve our educational system and make it a better one. But HOW?
