Said Gutseriev, 28 and Khadija Uzhakhovs, 20 got married in a lavish celebration this past weekend that reportedly cost $1 billion.

The groom’s billionaire father Mikhail Gutseriev, 58 spared no expense for the 600 guest wedding in Moscow, Russia’s capital and biggest city.

Mikhail is a self-made billionaire from oil and real estate, and the groom Said is one of his two children. He’s the 16th richest person in Russia, and 205th in the world, according to Forbes.

The groom is Harrow and Oxford educated and the bride is currently in school to be a dentist.

Daily Mail reports that it took 4 years to find the groom an ideal bride, who had to be a virgin and low-key. She doesn’t have an Instagram account, and her other social media doesn’t have many photos.

Messi becomes second player to score 50 goals for Argentina

Lionel Messi’s goal against Bolivia on Wednesday, means he has become only the second Argentina player in history, to score 50 international goals.

The Barcelona superstar struck in the 30th minute of the 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes, to reach half a century of goals for the Albiceleste.

Only Gabriel Batistuta has ever achieved the feat before. The former Fiorentina striker ended his international carer with 54 goals in 78 matches.

Messi now needs to score one more, to reach 500 career goals for club and country, as his current record for Barca and Argentina stands at 499.

The 28-year-old’s next game is Saturday’s El Clasico at the Nou Camp.

Danielle Saul, a business development manager who longed to be a bride committed suicide because she couldn’t get a man to settle down with. She began to sink into depression as her friends started to wed while she lived alone with her cat. She eventually took her life after hopes of reconciling with her ex- boyfriend were shattered.

Although she was invited to hen parties and was asked to be a bridesmaid, Danielle sent messages to her best friend saying, “I feel like dying”, as well as a photograph of herself crying.

Tragedy struck in June last year after she went out partying with friends in Manchester city centre when she bumped into a former long-term boyfriend.

She invited the unnamed man and his friends back to the flat she owned in Fallowfield, Manchester, for further drinks but became upset when he left the following day without them reconciling.

She was found dead three days later when a concerned friend visited the apartment after not hearing from her. Tests later revealed she was twice the drink-drive limit and it is feared she “impulsively” took the decision as a “cry for help”.

This is in Edo State? Is this what we voted them in for?

Oshiomhole shouldn't even interfere in Nigerian matters, when children from his state have to virtually turned into mountain climbers both boys and girls to get to school everyday?

This is communal rejection. Where is the counselor? His or her own is to wait for the next cash to steal. Let's fear God and remember we have children.

Whoever knows Oshiomole, should tell him to swing into action asap or else this will go beyond this point. Our leaders must be held accountable.

Nigeria lose to Egypt, fail to qualify for 2017 African Nations Cup

Nigeria will not be competing at the 2017 African Nations Cup after losing 1-0 to Egypt on Tuesday.

Ramadan Sobhy took advantage of a missed clearance to put Egypt atop qualifying Group G at Borg El-Arab Stadium, where a longstanding ban on fans attending games in large numbers in Egypt was temporarily lifted.

Nigeria faced a must-win game after Chad withdrew from their group earlier this week. Under CAF's rules, all of Chad's previous results are thrown out, leaving Nigeria with just two points from three games and one game remaining.

Teams from groups with three teams are also ineligible from advancing as a group runners-up, ending all hope for the Super Eagles.

Army confirms death of abducted Colonel

Reports reaching NAIJ.com have it that Colonel Samaila Inusa, who was kidnapped last weekend has been killed. Inusa, the army reported, had been abducted on Saturday by unknown gunmen as his wife and son were left unharmed. However, fresh reports by Sahara Reporters confirmed that the Colonel has now been killed by the unknown abductors. Check out their tweet below:

The Nigerian army confirmed this development via its spokesperson, Colonel Kukasheka Usman. “Preliminary investigation revealed that most likely the late senior officer was killed same day he was kidnapped by his abductors. This is because the body was found already decomposing around Ajyaita village off Eastern Bypass Kaduna, Kaduna State. “Arrangements are in progress to move the body to 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna. May His soul rest in peace, Amen. “We wish to state in unmistakeable terms that whoever is behind his abduction and murder would be fished out to face the full wrath of the law,” he reportedly wrote in a statement.

Fuel scarcity: NNPC shaken by Tinubu’s attack on Kachikwu, begs Nigerians

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has reassured Nigerians of its commitment to end the persistent fuel scarcity in the country.

This came as a result of the attack from the APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu to the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, over what Tinubu called his non-challant attitude towards the feelings of Nigerians in view of the ongoing fuel scarcity.

A statement signed by Mr Garba Deen Muhammed, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, on Monday in Abuja, said “we wish to re-assure Nigerians that we are on top of the petroleum products supply and distribution situation and we remain committed to eliminating this endemic issue once and for all within the next few days.”

“We genuinely empathize with the sufferings and wish to reassure that we are focused and committed to bringing an end to this situation within the next few days.

“We kindly call on all Nigerians to partner with us on this journey to allowing the whole process of change come into fruition,” it said.

It said the current administration inherited a huge catalog of issues and problems in the downstream sector not limited to arrears of subsidy payments to oil marketers.

Other issues, it said, included corruption and inefficiencies in the supply and distribution chain, incessant vandalism of pipelines and poor performance of refineries, among others.

Army offers huge cash reward for news on abducted colonel

Anyone who can provide any information that could lead to the rescue of the abducted army colonel, Samaila Inusa has been promised a N1 million reward.

The reward was announced by the Nigeria army, which promised also to adequately protect anyone who provides useful information. A spokesperson for the First Division of the Nigerian army, Colonel Usman Abdul, who announced the award, said that any such tip-off would be treated with utmost confidentiality.

Inusa was reportedly whisked away in his Mercedes-Benz car by gunmen around Kamazo, along Kaduna Refinery Road, in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state on Saturday, March 26. Colonel Abdul announced the cash-for-information offer to journalists on Monday morning, upping the bounty to N1 million after an initial promise of a N500,000 cash reward for information.

When France, USA and Belgium were bombed, within few days culprits were arrested. If a colonel can be kidnapped in KADUNA famous for military training, where else can we hide our selves. So sad.

Egypt Air Domestic Flight Hijacked, Lands in Cyprus

A hijacker who claimed he was wearing an explosive belt forced a domestic EgyptAir flight to land in Cyprus before releasing the majority of those on board, except four foreigners and seven crew.

EgyptAir flight 181 from Burg Al-Arab airport to Cairo landed in Larnaca. The Airbus 320 was carrying 81 passengers and seven crew members, the Egyptian Civil Aviation Ministry said in a statement. Cypriot authorities sent anti-terror forces to the airport, Sky News Arabia reported.

One passenger who is at the airport has shared this image. She says that there are police and snipers running through the terminal. Police have told the woman that there is a bomb on board.
