David Beckham as U.K. Prime Minister? Not as outlandish as you think, according to a new
poll. The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, Harry Potter’s Emma Watson and,
yes, even David Beckham have topped a British survey to find which celebrities would make
the most trustworthy political leaders.
Lawrence came out on top, followed by Beckham and Watson, whose gender
equality campaigning for the United Nations has earned her some political cred.
Among the traits attributed to Oscar winner Lawrence, 25, by pollsters were honesty,
having a strong personality and being genuine.
Other stars considered to have good leadership qualities include Idris Elba, Sylvester
Stallone and House of Cards’ Kevin Spacey, who one can only hope wouldn’t be as
murderous as fictional president Frank Underwood.
With the U.S. presidential elections taking place in November, interestingly Britons
say they wouldn’t vote for Donald Trump in an election. Just one in 20 (5 percent) of those
who took part in the poll felt he would make a good leader.
The poll was commissioned by Lionsgate U.K. to mark the release of The Hunger
Games: Mockingjay Part 2, released on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday.
